Support Group for Families of Autistic Adults, 5/18/25, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM ET

Dr. Tobe received his medical degree from the University of Chicago-Pritzker School of Medicine in 2005, completed residency in adult psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center and the New York State Psychiatric Institute in 2009, and completed his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia/Cornell in 2011. 

In his role at the Nathan Kline Institute, Dr. Tobe serves as a Principal Investigator or co-investigator on numerous studies of healthy brain development and psychiatric illness where he collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, physicians, psychologists, social workers, clinical evaluators, and research support assistants.  Dr. Tobe’s primary scientific interests are in clinical therapeutics, autism spectrum disorder, and development across the lifespan. Dr. Tobe has published numerous scientific manuscripts and presented numerous conference abstracts on these topics.  He is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at New York University.  Dr. Tobe resides in Rockland County with his wife and two boys. Dr. Tobe will discuss medication treatments for Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Specifically, Dr. Tobe will update on the results of recent multisite clinical trials and discuss obstacles in developing therapeutics in autism.

AANE can offer participants a reduced fee or free registration through the Jody Acford Memorial Fund. As long as space remains, no one requesting financial aid will be turned away. To request financial aid, send an email to [email protected]. For example:

AANE will refund support group or social activity registration fees in the following circumstances: 

– AANE cancels a group.

– AANE reschedules a group and a registrant can no longer participate. 

– If a registrant requests a refund at least 3 business days before the start date of a support group or social activity.

Multi-Session – register once for multiple sessions with the same participants in groups or workshops

Single Session – register for one session or event, includes groups, webinars, workshops, or special events
