*PLEASE NOTE: This month’s Skill Building Workshop will be held on a Friday (not our usual Thursday) and will be the last workshop in 2024. There will NOT be a Skill Building Workshop in December.

Description

There are so many aspects of cooking and it can be quite overwhelming. How do I decide what to cook? Do I have the right ingredients? How do I know when my recipe is done? These are only a few questions our clients may have when deciding to venture into the kitchen. Knowing how to cook is a significant part of independent living. Coaches will gain insight on how to support clients as they learn and improve upon their cooking skills. This workshop will focus on identifying a recipe, shopping for ingredients and finally, preparing and cooking in the kitchen. Whether your client strives to learn basic cooking skills or if they aspire to be more creative and ambitious in the kitchen, this workshop will offer guidance and resources to make each step of the cooking process fun and engaging while breaking down each step one at a time.

Speaker

Heather Rochette, BS, has been a LifeMAP Coach since 2012 and has worked with a wide range of clients during that time. She began cooking virtually with clients at the start of the pandemic. While this initially proved to have many challenges, Heather has honed these coaching skills. Heather has a BS from Rutgers University in Exercise Science. Health, fitness and nutrition have always been a significant component of her life. Cooking naturally falls into this category and she has been pleased to work with many clients in the kitchen both virtually and in person.
