Description
There are different types of recruiters, job agencies, and headhunters out there. Knowing what services they offer can be useful to leverage their help in securing a job. For example, a headhunter would usually be used for a specialised job for which you have already received training, like a javascript programmer. A job agency might be looking for casual staff to cover a holiday or time-boxed project, like extra staff at a restaurant over Christmas. A recruiter (usually not an individual person) might be the organisation you go to because they act as a broker to connect you with job adverts that fit your qualifications and experience. Sometimes they will deal with only permanent positions, some only with casual or temporary work, and some cover both. They can also sometimes help with applications.
Come to learn about potential pros and cons with engaging these services. You can also get tips for navigating the social communication involved.
