Research Study Description

Hi everyone! My name is Alison Tassone and I am a clinical psychology doctoral student at the University of Wyoming working under the mentorship of Kasey Stanton, PhD. We are currently recruiting Autistic adults to participate in a research study. The study is called “Understanding Autistic Adults’ Perceptions of Diagnostic Reports and The Language Used: A Mixed Method Study.” The goal of this study is to better understand Autistic adult perspectives surrounding current assessment practices, with a particular focus on the language used in adult autism reports. The study involves a brief screening survey, a 5-minute demographics questionnaire, and a 40–60-minute interview over Zoom (with audio, video, or chat options). Participants who complete the study will receive a $20 Amazon gift card for their time.

Criteria for participating:
1. 18 years of age or older and not under legal guardianship
2. Received a formal autism (autism, ASD, Asperger’s, PDD) diagnosis in adulthood and within the past 5 years
3. Received a written report or letter following diagnosis (and read it in full)
