Research Study Description

My name is Elaina Daly, and I am a high school student from Westchester County, NY, conducting a research project for my science research class. My project focuses on how different educational factors affect facial emotion recognition (FER) in students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The goal of this study is to explore whether classroom type and other educational placements influence the ability of students with ASD to recognize emotions, and to share these findings with schools and professionals who support students with ASD in order to improve FER and overall social intelligence.

As part of my project, I have created a short survey and facial emotion recognition task that takes about 10 minutes to complete. Responses will be kept completely confidential.
