At St. John’s University, we are currently reaching out to Spanish-speaking families of children on the autism spectrum to participate in a free parent coaching study focused on improving sleep routines. The study provides free, personalized virtual parent coaching completely in Spanish to support families in addressing their child’s sleep challenges and developing positive bedtime routines. The goal is to reduce sleep challenges and parental stress levels. The aim of this study is to contribute findings to the research literature to better support Latinx families of autistic children as there is a lack of research on evidence-based sleep interventions that have been linguistically and culturally adapted for Latinx families.
We are looking for parents who:
* Has a child between 4 and 10 years old who has a diagnosis of autism.
* Has a child with ongoing sleep challenges for at least one year.
* Live in the same home as your child.
* Identify as Latina/Latino/Latinx (Latinx is used as a gender-inclusive term).
* Primarily speak Spanish and have limited English proficiency.
Please share with friends, family, and other networks if applicable!
