Description
Though not yet an official diagnosis in the United States, PDA is becoming more widely known, but an accurate understanding of this complex neurology is still rare. This two-hour CE event invites professionals, caregivers, Autistic and PDA adults to explore PDA through “The PDA Safe Circle Approach.” This is a visual, intuitive, and radically neurodivergent-affirming framework that is built on two-way trust and literacy in nervous system states rather than compliance. Together, we’ll unpack how traditional behavior-based approaches lead to distress and burnout for PDAers, and learn compassionate, strengths-based strategies that decrease distress and increase well-being for PDAers and their loved ones.
Watch a video from Becca Lory-Hector, AANE’s Director of Training, as she talks about this event!
Please note that while the webinar will be recorded for future reference, attendees must be present for the live session on 3/12 in order to qualify for CE credits.
This program is co-sponsored by the Association for Autism and Neurodiversity (AANE) and the Massachusetts Psychological Association (MPA). MPA is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. MPA maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
