Description
We are very excited to offer this workshop as a part of another 6 session series focused on Employment for Autistic adults, led by Sam Warner. These are discrete workshops so you are welcome to attend one or more but you will need to sign up for each individually. These workshops are for Autistic adults. They are best suited for someone who is currently working or considering working in an office environment but that is not a requirement to attend. Please note: these workshops will not be recorded. The workshops are going to be a mix of Sam sharing prepared content and an open discussion/Q&A.
Many organizations use fear to make their staff do what they want. It’s old-fashioned and it doesn’t really work. It causes high staff turnover which in turn costs a lot of money in recruitment fees. When we join an organization we hope that we will be in a culture that aligns with our own values and that we will be treated with respect. Often Neurodivergent individuals are thrust into management and leadership roles with little or no training, or even worse, very poor outdated methods of running a team effectively handed down from the last manager. In this session, Sam will give you tips on how to look for healthy and respectful work cultures and how to ask about culture in interviews. She also has tips for new leaders and managers on how to break the cycle and do a great job for your team.
