Research Study Description

We want to share with you an important research project being conducted at the University of Virginia.

The goal of this study is to understand how well an online mindfulness based mental health therapy program will work for autistic adults with intellectual disability and mental health concerns. The therapy program will be at no cost.

We are seeking autistic adults who:
-Are 18-55 years old,
-Have mild to moderate intellectual disability,
-Experience current mental health concerns,
-Live with an adult who would be willing to complete an online mindfulness program with them as their program partner.

What participants and trusted adults would do:
-Complete questionnaires
-Participate in online therapy sessions for 8-10 weeks
-Keep track of behavioral data throughout the program,
-Practice skills at home in-between sessions,

What you would receive:
-Adults may learn strategies to help themselves calm their emotions during daily activities,
-Up to $150 for completing questionnaires and therapy sessions,
