Research Study Description

The goal of this study is to modify a therapy called Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for autistic kids and teens affected by trauma. Because autistic kids and teens often get therapy in the community, we also want to learn how to support community providers to use TF-CBT with autistic kids and teens.

This is important because:
• Autistic kids and teens experience high rates of trauma.
• They can have changes in their thoughts and feelings after experiencing trauma.
• TF-CBT has been shown to be helpful to many kids and teens (ages 3 to 18), but it has not been tested with autistic youth.

We want the input of autistic youth, caregivers of autistic youth, and clinicians to help modify TF-CBT.

Who can participate in this study?
• Autistic young people between the ages of 18 and 25.
• Caregivers of an autistic youth ages 6 to 18.

What will you need to do if you participate?
• Complete a brief online survey to tell us more about you.
• Participate in one online focus group for 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
• Look over materials before and after the focus group.

You will be paid for your time. Please contact [email protected] with questions or to express your interest.
