Research Study Description

My name is Dr. Meredith Maroney and I am the director of the Double Rainbow Lab (https://double-rainbow-lab.dudasites.com/). We conduct research focused on LGBTQ+ and autistic mental health and well-being, with an emphasis on strengths-based and affirmative practice.

We are currently recruiting participants for a study about the experiences of support groups for LGBTQ+ Autistic People. We are conducting this study in partnership with two co-researchers at AANE.

This study might be a good fit for you if you are:

1) Autistic (self-diagnosed or formally diagnosed)
2) Have attended an AANE support group designed to support LGBTQ+ people: 1) LGBTQIA+ Adults, 2) Gender Identity Support Group, 3) Gay Men, 4) Trans, Non-Binary, and Gender Expansive Teens, and 5) Parents of Trans Youth

Participation in this study includes:
● Completing a brief screening survey and phone call to confirm eligibility
● Completing an individual interview (estimated 45-60 minutes)
● Optional: Providing feedback on results
