As an independent, non-profit organization, AANE relies on the help of its community. Our current success can be attributed to the generous gifts and active involvement of our community members. Your contributions allow us to provide many of our services free of charge and to maintain affordable fees for our conferences and seminars. We at AANE thank you for your help. We truly could not do it without you!
Become a member of AANE and renew your membership annually. Members receive special benefits, such as receiving the semi-annual AANE Journal and access to our in-person and online support groups.
We are excited to report that plans are underway for the Asperger’s Association of New England’s most important fundraiser of the year. We are asking for your support for this nationally recognized organization by considering a donation of an auction item or becoming a sponsor for our 12th Annual Gala & Auction Benefit. This year’s theme is The Grand Illusion 2008, a night of magic designed to entertain and educate, while raising awareness and crucial funding for AANE.
Unlike many other autism services, we are not a state-funded organization. In fact, 70% of our funding comes from private donations.
We offer many of our services at no cost, such as the help line, support groups, and social groups for adults with AS. Your donations allow us to keep these services free of charge.
These are some ways in which you can help us:
We rely on volunteers to help run the organization at all levels.
Do you know an educator who has made a real difference in the life of someone with Asperger’s Syndrome? What about a teenager with AS who has met his or her academic, social or emotional challenges with courage, dignity and maturity? Honor this devoted professional or hard-working teen by nominating him or her for either the AANE Award for Excellence in Teaching Students or the Dandurand Award for Teens. Your nomination helps us recognize those whose hard work truly contributes to our mission.
You can view past award winners of the Educator Awards from 2006 through 2008.
AANE supports several research studies that will add to the body of knowledge about AS. If you have AS or have a relative with AS, you may be eligible to participate. Participation is typically brief and enjoyable, and you can feel good about making your voice heard and contributing to the growing body of AS research.
These studies are not carried out by AANE, but we have compiled a list of ongoing studies you may wish to participate in. All studies listed have been approved by the relevant institution’s Research Ethics Board.
The mission of AANE includes advocating for appropriate quality services for individuals with AS across the age spectrum and lobbying for funding at the local, state, and national levels.
If you have a connection to a foundation or work for a company that might be willing to sponsor our Gala or any of our conferences, please contact Kristin White at (866) 597-AANE x319.
