Edwin Phillips Foundation Application (via AANE)

In order to qualify for a grant, a family must:

  • Live in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Eligible towns include Abington, Bridgewater, Brockton, Carver, Duxbury, East Bridgewater, Halifax, Hanover, Hanson, Hingham, Kingston, Lakeville, Marion, Marshfield, Mattapoisett, Middleborough, Norwell, Pembroke, Plymouth, Plympton, Rochester, Rockland, Scituate, Wareham, West Bridgewater, and Whitman.
  • Have a child diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome or closely related conditions on the autism spectrum (PDD-NOS, PDD, HFA, or “mild autism”).

There is no income cut-off but we expect families who have financial need to apply.

Grant amounts:

Grants will range from $50.00 - $1,000.00

What you can ask for:

You may apply to use the money for anything that directly improves the life of a child on the autism spectrum.

Adaptive swimming lessons Occupational therapy
Appropriate clothing Physical therapy
Art classes Puzzles and Games
Books and videos Respite Care
Camp Tuition/Aide's Salary Sensory Integration training
Computer Software Social skills training
Educational conference fees Speech therapy
Educational consultant's fees Sports equipment
Educational evaluation Therapeutic skating lessons
Horseback-riding lessons Video games
Membership to the YMCA Vision services

Application Process

To apply for funds, please complete the application (click here). Please supply the first page of your most current completed tax return. Feel free to explain any unusual or special circumstances regarding your need that may not be evident by completing the form.

Once your application is received, Dania Jekel, M.S.W., Executive Director of AANE, and project volunteer Janice Yeh will review the application and determine if the applicant meets the above guidelines. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis and decisions made within fourteen days. If a favorable determination is made, AANE will write a check to the family or to the service provider indicated on the application. If the committee determines that a greater or lesser amount should be granted, we will notify the family, with an explanation of the decision. If an application is rejected, you will receive a letter explaining the decision. Families should feel free to reapply if their circumstances change. Since there is a limited amount of money, please apply as soon as you can.

Proof of service or purchase of goods

A family which receives money must send receipts or other proof of purchase for the agreed upon goods or services to AANE. This grant will be audited by a CPA and we must have proper documentation!!!
